FAQ-16)-INTRODUCTORY PRICE-$195/SET

FAQ-1)-CGC-CERTIFIED: What gives true value to a CGC-Certified Reproduction is the high standards for grading employed by Certified Grading & Certification, Inc. (CGC).

FAQ-2)-CGC-GRADED NOTES: Every CGC-Certified Reproduction is based upon an original note that has been graded by CGC.

FAQ-3)-SIZE: A CGC-Certified Reproduction enlarges the note to a dimension of slightly larger than 11x4.6", which is a little over 150% lineally of the original. This reproduced note is then centered within an 8x12" presentation frame.

FAQ-4)-DOUBLE SIDED: All CGC-Certified Reproductions are displayed in their holders as a double sided note by carefully combining the obverse and reverse prints.

FAQ-5)-COLOR: The CGC-Certified Reproductions are in vivid color-every bit as vibrant as the original. This is especially apparent in the reproductions that comprise the Rainbow Series.

FAQ-6)-ACRYLIC HOLDER: Each CGC-Certified Reproductions is displayed within a separate hard and thick 8x12" self-standing acrylic holder.

FAQ-7)-SERIES: There are currently three sets of CGC-Certified Reproductions, with each set consisting of three notes. These three series are: the Rainbow Series (described in FAQ-8); the Educational Series (described in FAQ-9); and the Western Series (described in FAQ-10).

FAQ-8)-RAINBOW SERIES: The Rainbow Series consists of three reproductions of 1869 Legal Tender notes: First, FR-18 $1 Rainbow with the obverse portrait of George Washington-First President of the United States, and the vignette of Columbus In Sight Of Land (original in CGC-65 GEM Uncirculated); Second, FR-64 $5 Rainbow with the obverse portrait of Andrew Jackson-7th President of the United States, and the vignette of the pioneer family-"Woodchopper"; and Third, FR-96 $10 Rainbow with the obverse portrait of Daniel Webster Secretary of State and the vignette of an eagle which when viewed upside down looks like a mule-thus "Jackass note" (original in CGC-64 CHOICE Uncirculated).

FAQ-9)-EDUCATIONAL SERIES: The Educational Series consists of three reproductions of 1896 Silver Certificate notes: First, FR-224 $1 Educational with the obverse allegory of "History Instructing Youth", and the reverse of George Washington and his wife Martha (original in CGC-65 GEM Uncirculated); Second, FR-248 $2 Educational with the obverse allegory of "Science Presenting Steam and Electricity", and the reverse of inventors Robert Fulton and Samuel F. B. Morse (original in CGC-66 SUPERB GEM); and Third, FR-268 $5 Educational with the obverse allegory of "Electricity as the Dominant Force in the Universe", and the reverse of Union Generals Ulysses Grant and Philip Sheridan (original in CGC-64 CHOICE Uncirculated).

FAQ-10)-WESTERN SERIES: The Western Series consists of three reproductions : First, FR-271 $5 1899 Silver Certificate "CHIEF" with the obverse showing a portrait of Chief Oncpapa of the Sioux Indians (original in CGC-66 SUPERB GEM); Second, FR-121 $10 1901 Legal Tender "BISON" with the obverse showing a bison in-between explorers Lewis and Clark (original in CGC-65 GEM Uncirculated); and Third, FR-263 $5 1886 Silver Certificate most famous "MORGAN BACK" because the reverse shows five Morgan silver dollars of 1886 (original in CGC-65 GEM Uncirculated).

FAQ-11)-VALUE: The current value of the three sets of original notes, as set forth in the February/March 2003 CGC Currency Price Guide on this website, show a current value of each series as follows: the Rainbow Series-$13,290; the Educational Series-$19,950; and the Western Series-$16,050. Thus, owning CGC-Certified Reproductions is a smart way to enjoy all the beauty of these rare nineteenth century notes at a fraction of the cost. Interestingly, the real owner of all these notes is required by his insurance company to keep the originals in a bank vault, and to display his set of reproductions in his home. Since most of the original notes from which the CGC-Certified Reproductions were made, were purchased from CGC on this website, you can view the originals on this website.

FAQ-12)-GICLEE REPRODUCTIONS: CGC-Certified Reproductions employs the giclee (ge clay) method of printmaking for all its fine art prints. The word "giclee" was coined in the early 1990's to describe fine art prints reproduced with special inkjet printers. Giclee prints gained popularity because they were capable of accurately reproducing original art onto professional grade heavy-weight matte watercolor papers and canvases. Giclee prints have the same look, texture and feel of the original CGC-graded 66-SUPERB GEM, 65-GEM and 64-CHOICE Uncirculated notes. CGC is committed to using only the finest papers and dye based inks in its reproductions.

FAQ-13)-SELECT PAPERS AND INKS: Regardless of how well an image is prepared, the print's image quality will either please or disappoint, depending on the quality of the combination of the paper and the ink. CGC has been unrelenting in testing and selecting the very best media to ensure that the artworks full brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, value, detail, and beauty are conveyed in the reproduction. These authentic looking replicas are easily distinguish-able from so-called "photos" or "copies" of pictures found in books on paper currency. There simply is no other company today producing fine art reproductions directly from authoritatively and accurately graded GEM and CHOICE Uncirculated notes.

FAQ-14)-FEDERAL LAW COMPLIANT: CGC's legal counsel has issued a written opinion to the company that CGC's Certified Currency Reproductions are in full compliance with all Federal laws, such as Title 18, Part I, Chapter 25 dealing with the crimes of counterfeiting and forgery, and more particularly 18 USCS § 504, and the Counterfeit Deterrence Act of 1992.

FAQ-15)-SATISFACTION GUARANTY: CGC-Certified Reproductions are sold with an unconditional, full ten-day money back guaranty. If for any reason, or for no reason, you are not completely delighted with your purchase, just return the item for a no-questions asked and expeditious full refund.

FAQ-16)-INTRODUCTORY PRICE-$195/SET: Each of the Sets numbered 100-1,000 are being offered at the introductory price of $195, plus $13.50 for shipping and handling. Sets numbered 3-99 will be issued at a later time for sale by auction. While all three sets would normally cost $585 plus $40.50 shipping, if ordered at the same time all three sets can be purchased for $500 and we'll pay the shipping.
