FR 1176 "GARFIELD" 1882 $20 GOLD CERTIFICATE GRADED CGC 25 VERY FINE! THIS 1882 GOLD CERTIFICATE IS EXTREMELY RARE ~ WITH ONLY 7 EVER GRADED! THIS IS THE FIRST EVER CERTIFIED BY CGC AND IS COMPLETELY ORIGINAL! Featuring the small brown seal and President Garfield, who was assassinated at age 49, shot by Charles Guiteau July 2nd 1881, and passed on Sept. 19th 1881. Guiteau was a want to be politician who sought office as a Consul in Paris, but was overlooked and looking for revenge (he was executed on June 30th 1882). Many people are aware of this assassination but are unaware the "Robert Lincoln" was there at the train station that day and watched Garfield assassinated (once in the arm and once in the back), as he did his father 16 years prior. This is a very special Historical bank note and is a rare opportunity to find such an original piece with only 7 known certified.
